A Review of School Board Cyberbullying Policies in Alberta
An online search for school board cyberbullying/bullying policies in Alberta was conducted. The results showed that while only five school boards had a bullying policy, many schools had technology or Internet use guidelines. The online search included an assessment of one extensive school board cyberbullying policy as well as Internet use guidelines in two large school boards in Alberta. While technology and Internet use guidelines support anti-bullying initiatives, it is argued that a clear well defined policy empowers administrators to make informed decisions on how to handle cyberbullying. Finally, policy recommendations are proposed based on the results of the online search. On a entrepris une recherche en ligne pour trouver les politiques des conseils scolaires albertains en matière d’intimidation/harcèlement en ligne. Les résultats indiquent que si seulement cinq conseils ont mis en place une politique en matière d’intimidation, plusieurs écoles ont des directives quant à l’emploi des technologies et de l’internet. La recherche en ligne a comporté l’évaluation d’une politique scolaire approfondie sur le harcèlement en ligne ainsi que les directives quant à l’emploi de l’internet de deux grands conseils scolaires en Alberta. Bien que les directives en matière de l’emploi des technologies et de l’internet appuient les initiatives contre le harcèlement, nous affirmons que la mise en place d’une politique clairement définie permet aux administrateurs de prendre des décisions éclairées quant à la gestion du harcèlement en ligne. Nous terminons en proposant des recommandations stratégiques reposant sur les résultats de la recherche en ligne
POTENSI PENERAPAN PRODUKSI BERSIH PADA RUMAH POTONG HEWAN (RPH) KOTA JAMBI
Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menganalisis potensi pencemaran dan pemanfaatan limbah cair dan limbah padat dari UPTD Rumah Potong Hewan (RPH) Kota Jambi, serta penerapan produksi bersih bersih berdasarkan Guidance Manual: How to Establish and Operate Cleaner Production Centres. Parameter yang diambil adalah BOD, COD, TSS, Minyak & Lemak, pH. Limbah padat berupa C dan N, serta wawancara dengan pekerja. Hasil penelitian menunjukan kualitas BOD 11.280 mg/l, COD 17.110 mg/l, TSS 2.300 mg/l, Minyak & Lemak 168 mg/l berada di atas standar baku mutu yang berpotensi mencemari lingkungan kecuali pH 7,9 yang masih dibawah baku mutu. Darah dapat berpotensi sebagai pakan ternak sekitar 60 kg/hari, urine menjadi pupuk organik cair sekitar 900 liter. Limbah padat berpotensi menjadi Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Biogas (PLTB) sekitar 11,28 kWh/hari dan pupuk organik/kompos yang bisa meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian sekitar 180kg/hari. kesimpulan yang dapat diambil untuk mengoptimalkan produksi bersih, yakni: pemasangan keran, pemasangan water sprayer gun, penggunaan masker, dan pembuatan poster mengenai produksi dengan penghematan mencapai Rp 3.718.578,08/tahun

The Relationship Between Indirect Aggression and Loneliness for Emerging Adults: What Does Interpersonal Competence Have to Do with Wellbeing?
The present study investigated the mediating role of interpersonal competence in the relationship between indirect aggression and loneliness for emerging adults. One hundred and sixty-seven Canadian undergraduate students aged 18-25 participated and completed an anonymous, online survey. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the mediating role of interpersonal competence in the relationship between indirect aggression and loneliness. The findings revealed that interpersonal competence mediated the relationship between indirect aggression for targets and loneliness. These findings have implications for mental health researchers and practitioners and can inform the development of prevention and intervention programs for young adults dealing with indirect aggression.

La présente étude porte sur le rôle de médiation de la compétence interpersonnelle dans le lien entre l’agression indirecte et le sentiment de solitude chez les adultes émergents. Cent soixante-sept étudiants canadiens de premier cycle et âgés de 18 à 25 ans ont complété un sondage anonyme en ligne. Nous avons eu recours à la modélisation par équation structurelle pour analyser le rôle de médiation de la compétence interpersonnelle dans le lien entre l’agression indirecte et le sentiment de solitude. Les résultats indiquent que la compétence interpersonnelle joue un rôle de médiation dans le lien entre l’agression indirecte et le sentiment de solitude. Ces résultats ont des implications pour les chercheurs et les praticiens en santé mentale et ils peuvent contribuer à l’élaboration de programmes de prévention et d’intervention visant les jeunes adultes aux prises avec l’agression indirecte.

Estimasi Emisi Gas Rumah Kaca pada Pengelolaan Sampah Domestik dengan Metode IPCC 2006 di TPA Talang Gulo Kota Jambi
The waste that loaded to the Talang Gulo Landfill in 2018 is 1,012.234 m3/day and is predicted to produce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions such as CH4 and N2O. The purpose of this study was to create a waste management layout, to determine the generation data and composition of waste in Jambi city and calculate the estimated amount of Greenhouse Gas (GHG). The calculation of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions in this study used from Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (IPCC) 2006 method. Sampling results show that the average waste generation in Jambi City is 0.207 kg/person/day. Food waste, plastics, and paper were the dominant components from the composition of waste in landfill by 47,381%, 20.565%, and 13.096%. CH4 emissions generated from landfill zone VI in 2019 amounted to 4,695Ă—10-2 Gg and would increase to 16,608Ă—10-2 Gg in 2030. Greenhouse gas emissions generated from the composting zone consisted of 8,6Ă—10-4 Gg CH4 and 5,16Ă—10-5 Gg N2O in 2019 and 9,5Ă—10-4 Gg CH4 and 5,7Ă—10-5 Gg N2O in 2030. Emissions from heavy equipment activity in 2019 amounted to 1,065 Gg CO2. Estimates of greenhouse gas emissions are useful for taking steps to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions
Mothers’ and fathers’ parenting styles and associations with toddlers’ externalizing, internalizing, and adaptive behaviors
The two primary objectives of the present study were to (a) investigate mothers’ and fathers’ reports of their own as well as their partner's parentingstyles, and (b) assess how mothers’ and fathers’ parentingstyles uniquely and jointly predicted toddlers’ externalizing, internalizing, and adaptivebehaviors. Fifty-nine mothers and fathers independently completed the ParentingStyles and Dimension Questionnaire (PDSQ; Robinson, Mandleco, Olsen, & Hart, 2001) and the Behavior Assessment Scale for Children-2 (BASC-2; Reynolds & Kamphaus, 2004). Parents’ self-reports of their parentingstyles were positively correlated with each other for all three parentingstyles (authoritative, authoritarian, and permissive). Comparisons between parents’ reports of their partner's styles with that of the partner's self-reports were positively and moderately correlated for all three parentingstyles. Findings revealed mothers’ and fathers’ self-reported parentingstyles explained 44% of the variance in youngsters’ externalizingbehaviors. In particular, permissive parenting by mothers and authoritarian parenting by fathers uniquely and significantly predicted toddlers’ externalizingbehaviors, while authoritative paternal parenting was predictive of adaptivebehaviors
Differential Validity and Utility of Successive and Simultaneous Approaches to the Development of Equivalent Achievement Tests in French and English
Described in this article are the first three activities of a research program designed to assess the differential validity and utility of successive and simultaneous approaches to the development of equivalent achievement tests in the French and English languages. Two teams of multilingual/multicultural French-English teachers used the simultaneous approach to develop 70 items respectively for mathematics and social studies at the grade 9 level. The evidence gained from the pilot study suggests that the issue of differential item performance attributable to translation differences appears to be confounded by the presence of socioeconomic differences between the two groups of students. Consequently, the next activities of this research will be directed toward disentangling these two issues to obtain a clearer view of the efficacy of the simultaneous method in reducing differential group performance and enhancing linguistic and cultural decentering
